Job summary

Senior Helpers is seeking a Caregiver Trainer & Onboarding Specialist in Racine/Milwaukee to welcome, train, and mentor new caregivers, ensuring high-quality in-home care for seniors.

You will lead orientation sessions, develop training materials, and conduct hands-on shadow training in client homes. Regular travel between offices and client homes is required, with a full-time, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM schedule.

Qualifications

• Experience in senior care or home health is required.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Willingness to train and mentor new caregivers.

Responsibilities

• Onboarding & Classroom Training: Lead orientation sessions and create training materials.
• Lead advanced training sessions (e.g., dementia care, safety protocols).
• Field & Shadow Training: accompany caregivers in client homes for hands-on training.
• Fill caregiving shifts when needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Onboarding & Classroom Training: Lead engaging orientation sessions for new hires and create custom PowerPoint presentations for onboarding and ongoing training modules.
• Skill Advancement ("Level Up" Classes): Conduct specialized training sessions, including:
  • Senior Gems® Dementia & Alzheimer’s Care
  • Hoyer Lift & Transfer Techniques
  • CPR Certification & Safety Protocols
• Field & Shadow Training: Conduct hands‑on shadow training in client homes, providing warm introductions between caregivers and seniors to ensure a smooth transition.
• Shift Support: Step in to fill caregiving shifts in the field across all levels of care when urgent coverage is needed.

Job Requirements

• Caregiver Experience: Proven hands‑on experience in senior care or home health (experience across all levels of care required).
• Travel Requirements: Ability to travel regularly between our Racine and Milwaukee office locations, as well as to client homes across the region.
• Vehicle & License: Valid Driver’s License, reliable personal vehicle, and active auto insurance.
• Skills: Strong communication skills, comfort speaking in front of small groups, and basic computer proficiency (PowerPoint, Word, Email).
• Flexibility: Willingness to provide direct caregiving in the field on an as‑needed basis.
