Job summary

Village Caregiving - Johnson City is looking for a caring in-home aide to assist clients with daily tasks, medication reminders, mobility support and personal care. You will also help with light housekeeping, meals, and errands as needed, while documenting observations for nurses and families.

Strong communication, compassion and reliability are essential, along with adherence to health and safety standards and CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication.

• Prepare meals and perform light housekeeping as needed.
• Collect information from caregivers, nurses and family members.
• Report unusual incidents to nurses, doctors and family.
• Act quickly and responsibly in emergencies.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Help clients take prescribed medication
• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside (doctor’s appointments, walks etc.)
• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene
• Help clients complete physical therapy and other recommended exercises
• Do the client’s shopping or accompany them when they shop if needed
• Perform light housekeeping duties that clients can’t complete on their own, including preparing meals
• Collect information about conditions and treatment plans from caregivers, nurses, doctors and family members
• Report any unusual incidents to nurses, doctors and family members
• Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency

REQUIREMENTS

• Previous caregiver experience preferred but not required
• Current CPR (American Heart Association) Certification
• Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards
• Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking with attention to dietary constraints
• Must be respectful and compassionate with a good bedside manner
• Outstanding communication, time management and interpersonal skills
• Physical endurance to complete required tasks
• High school diploma or equivalent
