Assisting Hands Home Care – Dyer, IN is seeking compassionate, reliable caregivers to provide non-medical, in-home care to seniors and adults in Dyer and surrounding Lake and Porter Counties. We offer flexible hours, PRN/part-time options, and a supportive team that values your compassion and dedication.

As a caregiver, you’ll assist with personal care, provide companionship, light housekeeping, and ensure safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and proof of auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal care (bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, transfers).
• Provide companionship, conversation, and emotional support.
• Help with light housekeeping, laundry, and meal preparation.
• Offer medication reminders (no administration).
• Support safe mobility and ambulation (walker, wheelchair, etc.).
• Observe and report changes in client condition or behavior.
• Use mobile app to clock in/out and document care notes.
• Follow infection control and safety procedures (CDC-compliant).

What You’ll Need

• High school diploma or GED
• Preferred: 2 years of caregiving experience (home care, assisted living, or facility)
• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and proof of auto insurance
• Must pass a national background check
• Current TB test and CPR certification (or willing to obtain)
• Dependable, compassionate, and professional attitude
• Comfortable using a smartphone for scheduling and communication
