Job summary

Artis Senior Living in Olney, MD is seeking a Care Partner (CNA) to support residents with daily living activities and dementia care. Starting pay is $20/hour and up based on experience, with a 1st shift 7am-3pm and every other weekend required.

You will work as part of a compassionate team, following care plans, documenting care, responding to emergencies, and ensuring safety and infection control. Benefits include medical/dental/vision, paid holidays, three weeks PTO, 401k match, and tuition

Qualifications

• Must possess current CNA certification if required by state.
• Ability to assist with activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Experience with dementia care or willingness to learn.
• Willingness to obtain/maintain First Aid/CPR certification.
• Commitment to safety and infection prevention policies.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living such as grooming, hygiene, bathing, toileting, and mobility.
• Assist with household tasks and transportation within the community.
• Follow and monitor resident care plans and report changes to clinical staff.
• Observe residents for changes in behavior or medication responses and document appropriately.
• Respond to emergencies and ensure a safe environment for residents and staff.

How You'll Contribute

We proudly title our Caregivers / CNA’s as Care Partners, reflecting the collaborative role they play in our community and the important work they do to support our residents and families.

The Care Partner will provide assistance with daily living activities for residents with Alzheimer's/Dementia. You may be required to respond to emergency calls and situations, document and report care provided, and transport residents to various functions or locations. Familiarity with Alzheimer's/Dementia, and a willingness to work with the elderly population is essential for this role.

The Care Partner will:

• Assist with activities of daily living such as grooming, oral hygiene, toileting, bathing/showering, eating, etc.


• Assist with personal and household chores, such as tidying up room, errands, delivering mail and/or newspapers.


• Transport residents within the community to meals, enrichment activities, and other programs as needed.


• Ensure resident care plans are reviewed and followed consistently.


• Observe and monitor residents for behavioral changes and/or adverse reactions to medications or treatment plans. Communicate any changes to clinical staff immediately, as well as document changes thoroughly.


• Respond to emergency calls, resident/visitor’s requests and correct environment hazards in a timely, appropriate and safe manner.


• Observe community policies and procedures regarding resident and team member safety, attendance, timeliness, house rules, teamwork, and resident service.


• Maintain professionalism and resident confidentiality at all times.


• Adhere to all Infection Prevention, OSHA, fire and safety regulations at all times, to ensure the safety and well-being of all community residents.


• Perform all other duties as requested.

How You'll Succeed

• Must possess currentCNA certification if State requires it.


• Fulfill and maintain continuing education credits as required by state.


• Must be willing to obtain and/or maintain current First Aid/CPR certification.
