Griswold Home Care in Shakopee is seeking a compassionate Part-time Caregiver to join our team. You will provide non-medical elder care, companionship, and help with daily activities for seniors in their homes.

This role offers flexible hours, training opportunities, weekly pay, and a supportive work environment that values reliability and empathy. Previous home care experience is preferred but training is available.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of home care experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Willing to train new caregivers.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, grooming, dressing) and reminders.
• Provide non-medical elder care and companionship.
• Perform light housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation, and shopping assistance.
• Maintain client dignity and respect while promoting independence.
• Document shift notes and communicate with the office for care updates.

YOUR LIFE AS A CAREGIVER

This companionship and caregiving position offers flexible hours and opportunities to assist seniors on both day and night shifts. Clients may receive as little as 4 hours of care, while others require 24‑hour care.

As a Caregiver, you have the rewarding job of helping seniors live as fully and independently as possible while remaining in the places they love. You competently provide non‑medical elderly care and home companionship, helping with various responsibilities such as laundry, grocery shopping, and meal preparation. With the client’s dignity always at the forefront of your mind, you help them maintain proper personal hygiene. You are gentle and professional as you aid them with daily tasks such as bathing and feeding. At times, you provide companionship to clients who have dementia or cognitive impairments. Your kind and patient demeanour serves you well as you ensure they receive the highest quality of elderly care.

You carefully complete documentation for each shift, submitting timely updates. Committed to providing consistent elderly care, you communicate routinely with the office about the condition and needs of your clients. You feel good about helping seniors enjoy their golden years, and you are glad you chose a career in the caregiving industry.

• Reliable transportation
• A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
