Job summary

Golden Visions Senior Living is seeking a compassionate Resident Care Assistant for the 2:00 pm–10:00 pm shift in San Antonio, TX. You will support residents with daily living activities, meals, and dignity-focused care in a home-like setting.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities, monitoring safety, documenting changes, and collaborating with staff to ensure consistent, respectful care. Prior experience is helpful; training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Basic First Aid.
• HIPAA requirements.
• State and Federal Guidelines for Assisted Living.
• Nursing standards of practice for older adults.
• Promote teamwork in providing services to residents.

Responsibilities

• Provide services to each resident according to the resident service plan.
• Make residents’ beds daily.
• Launder residents’ clothing, linen and towels; fold and return to residents.
• Serve meals and bus tables during mealtimes.
• Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, eating, hygiene, mobility).
• Monitor health, safety and well-being of residents.
• Document changes in residents’ functional status and needs.
• Report injuries to supervisor by end of shift.
• Maintain records of chargeable services and submit monthly.
• Respond to emergencies and arrange care.
• Chaperone activities and maintain a safe environment.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings.
• Other duties as assigned

Essential Job Responsibilities

Resident Care

• Responsible for providing services to each resident according to the resident service plan.
• Make residents’ beds daily.
• Launder residents’ clothing, linen and towels; fold and return to residents.
• Serve meals and bus tables during mealtimes.
• Assist with minor housekeeping of residents’ apartments.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, eating, hygiene, and mobility.
• Monitor health, safety and well-being of the residents.
• Document information pertaining to changes in residents’ functional status, personal needs, appointments, etc.
• Report on-the-job injuries to the supervisor before the end of the work shift on the day the injury occurs.
• Maintain an accurate record of chargeable services and submit record to supervisor by the designated date each month.
• Respond to resident emergencies; provide first-aid assistance and arrange for appropriate medical attention and/or follow up.

Activities and Resident Involvement

• Conduct activities as requested by Lifestyle Director.
• Encourage socialization among residents and promote activities
• Chaperone activities outside the facility, when requested.
• Maintain a safe, home-like, and pleasant environment for residents.
• Practice safety in working around and with equipment, chemicals, tools, and utensils.
• Report on-the-job injuries to the supervisor before the end of the work shift on the day the injury occurs.
• Maintain confidentiality of verbal and written information pertaining to residents, facility operations and personnel.
• Attend regularly scheduled staff meetings and in-services
• Other duties as assigned

Education, Experience and Other Requirements

• Knowledge of Basic First Aid
• High school diploma or GED
• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

• Safe food handling procedures
• Nursing standards of practice for older adults
• Skills in nurturing, organization, and interest in working with older adults

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working in senior living
