Job summary

Charter Senior Living in Newport News, VA is seeking a compassionate Caregiver / CNA / PCA to join our Assisted Living and Memory Care teams. This PT role supports residents with daily living activities and social engagement, upholding dignity and independence.

You'll work with nursing staff to implement care plans, provide emotional support, and maintain a safe, welcoming environment. Prior experience in senior care is preferred; training is provided.

Qualifications

• Previous caregiver, CNA, PCA, HHA, or senior living experience preferred.
• Compassionate, dependable, and patient demeanor.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Support resident care plans and individualized needs.
• Assist with mobility, transfers, dressing, grooming, and bathing.
• Observe and report changes in resident condition.
• Document care and services provided.
• Provide emotional support and companionship to residents.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.
• Work collaboratively with nursing staff and community leadership.
• Help create meaningful experiences for residents each day.

As a Caregiver, you are one of the main support providers for our residents and play a vital role in helping them maintain dignity, independence, and quality of life.

Caregivers provide hands-on support to residents within our Assisted Living and/or Memory Care neighborhoods while building meaningful relationships through compassionate care and daily interaction.
