Senior Helpers of Portage is opening November 2026 and seeks part-time caregivers to provide compassionate, in-home care and companionship to seniors in their own homes. You will be valued, supported, and recognized for your contributions as part of a mission-driven team.

Qualifications

• Caregiver experience preferred but not required.
• At least 18 years old and valid driver’s license.
• Ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Successful completion of background check and pre-employment screenings.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, in-home assistance to seniors.
• Assist with daily activities and personal care as needed.
• Support independence and well-being for clients.
• Match clients with appropriate care based on needs.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE TEAM

• Exceptional interpersonal communication skills rooted in warmth and compassion.

• Demonstrates sound judgment, consistently treats others with respect, and upholds high standards for both self and team.
• Professional demeanor and strong customer service orientation.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.

MUST HAVES

• Caregiver experience preferred but not required, such as Certified Nursing Assistant, with a desire to assist others and improve their quality of life.
• Experience with in-home care is preferred but not required.
• At least 18 years old and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills.
• Demonstrate a compassionate and dependable work ethic, with a proven ability to provide high-quality non-medical companion care rooted in empathy, dignity, and respect for every individual.
• Valid Driver’s License, insurance, and reliable transportation.
• Physical ability to assist with lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.

• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• Successful completion of background check and pre-employment screenings.

A FEW LOGISTICS

• Hourly rate: $17.50/hour
• Available shifts are as follows: morning shift, day shift, evening shift, night shift, overnight shift, and weekends as needed.
