Job summary

Visiting Angels Tyler is seeking a caring, dependable caregiver to support families in East Texas, including Tyler, Whitehouse, Mineola and surrounding communities. This role provides meaningful, community-based work with flexible shifts and the chance to make a real difference in people’s daily lives.

Qualifications

• Passion to serve others and compassionate by nature.
• Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid.
• Driver's license and access to a vehicle with current insurance.
• 2 years of caregiving experience.
• Strong time management and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication.
• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility to appointments and walks.
• Assist with personal care and hygiene.
• Plan and prepare meals with client input.
• Shop for groceries or accompany clients shopping.
• Perform light housekeeping and provide companionship.
• Report unusual incidents promptly.
• Act quickly and responsibly in emergencies.

Caregiver Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication
• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside (doctor’s appointments, walks, etc.)
• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene
• Help clients with routine exercises
• Plan and prepare meals with assistance from the clients (when they are able)
• Do the client’s shopping or accompany them when they shop
• Perform light housekeeping duties that clients can’t complete on their own
• Be a pleasant and supportive companion
• Report any unusual incidents
• Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency

Caregiver Requirements
