Visiting Angels Edmond is seeking caring individuals to join our local team as Caregivers. You will support seniors in the Oklahoma City Metro area with a broad range of home care tasks, providing compassionate companionship and reliable daily assistance.

Our caregivers receive ongoing training in dementia and Alzheimer’s care, and opportunities for personal growth while making a meaningful difference in the Edmond community.

Qualifications

• Must have a true passion for serving others and providing compassionate care.
• Strong knowledge of emergency response and first aid.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Capable of managing time and prioritizing tasks in home care settings.
• Respectful, trustworthy, and with high ethical standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with medications as prescribed and remind them of routines.
• Provide mobility support and accompany clients to appointments or activities.
• Help with personal care and daily hygiene as needed.
• Assist with basic exercises and mobility-friendly activities.
• Plan and prepare meals with respect to dietary needs and preferences.
• Shop for groceries or accompany clients to shops as needed.
• Perform light housekeeping to maintain a safe, clean living space.
• Offer companionship and a positive, supportive presence.
• Document any changes in health or behavior and report concerns promptly.
• Respond quickly and appropriately in emergencies.

Caregiver Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication
• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside (doctor’s appointments, walks, etc.)
• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene
• Help clients with routine exercises
• Plan and prepare meals with assistance from the clients (when they are able)
• Do the client’s shopping or accompany them when they shop
• Perform light housekeeping duties that clients can’t complete on their own
• Be a pleasant and supportive companion
• Report any unusual incidents
• Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency

Caregiver Requirements

• Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid
