Job summary

Visiting Angels Bettendorf is hiring a Caregiver to support seniors in the Quad Cities, including Davenport and Bettendorf. You will assist with mobility, personal care, meals, and transportation, while providing compassionate companionship.

We offer advanced training in dementia and Alzheimer’s care; benefits include health, dental and vision insurance, direct deposit, weekly pay, and flexible shifts, with full-time and part-time options including 8- and 12-hour shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must have valid Driver's License.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication.
• Assist with ambulation and mobility around the home or outdoors.
• Assist with personal care and hygiene.
• Plan and prepare meals with client input.
• Do the client’s shopping or accompany them when they shop.
• Perform light housekeeping duties.
• Be a pleasant and supportive companion.
• Report unusual incidents promptly.
• Act quickly and responsibly in emergencies.

Caregiver Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication
• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside (doctor’s appointments, walks, etc.)
• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene
• Help clients with routine exercises
• Plan and prepare meals with assistance from the clients (when they are able)
• Do the client’s shopping or accompany them when they shop
• Perform light housekeeping duties that clients can’t complete on their own
• Be a pleasant and supportive companion
• Report any unusual incidents
• Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency

Caregiver Requirements

• Passion to serve others - a true caregiver
• Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid
• Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking with attention to dietary constraints
