A Step Above Home Care is seeking a dedicated In-Home Caregiver to provide high-quality care for clients in their homes. Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities, offering emotional support, and helping clients maintain independence and well-being.

The role involves one-on-one care, support with meals, mobility, memory care, hospice services, and collaboration with healthcare professionals to create personalized care plans. Flexible scheduling is available where possible.

Qualifications

• Experience with home care and daily living activities.
• Knowledge of ADLs and medical terminology.
• Ability to work with memory care and hospice clients.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one in-home care to clients.
• Assist with bathing, dressing, and grooming.
• Help with meals and medication management.
• Support mobility and physical therapy activities.
• Engage clients in mental and emotional activities.
• Perform light housekeeping and laundry.
• Administer basic first aid when needed.
• Document progress and report changes.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals for care plans.
• Provide hospice care and memory care activities.
• Maintain a safe, clean living environment.

Job description

30 hours per week. Monday through Friday. Start time 7-8 AM. 6 hours per day

• Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
• Help clients with meal preparation, feeding, and medication management
• Support clients with mobility and physical therapy exercises
• Engage in activities that promote mental and emotional well-being, such as conversation, games, and outings
• Provide assistance with laundry and housekeeping tasks
• Administer basic first aid and CPR when necessary
• Document client progress and report any changes in their condition
• Maintain a clean and safe living environment
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop personalized care plans
• Provide hospice care and support to clients and their families
• Assist with memory care activities, such as memory games and sensory stimulation
• Support clients with assisted living and home health needs
• Stay current with industry developments and best practices
• Adhere to company policies and procedures

Skills:

• Experience with systems and home community care
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and ADLs
• Ability to work with clients with varying levels of care needs, including those in memory care and hospice care
• Compassionate and empathetic approach to caregiving
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Familiarity with assisted living and home health environments
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to lift and transfer clients as needed
