Job summary

Front Porch is hiring a Caregiver for Carlsbad by the Sea Retirement Community. This full-time evening shift runs Tuesday through Saturday, 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Pay range is $21.00–$23.00 per hour. The caregiver provides routine nursing assistant services under supervision in a residential setting. Responsibilities include assisting residents with dining, personal care, and daily activities, maintaining safety and cleanliness, and documenting observations per policies and federal/state

Qualifications

• Essential: ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written and oral instructions.
• Essential: ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
• First Aid certificate required.

Responsibilities

• Provides quality resident care according to policies and procedures and nursing standards.
• Assists residents to and from dining room and serves meals; helps with food cutting as needed.
• Assists with bathing, dressing, and personal hygiene; maintains a clean and safe environment.
• Washes resident laundry, makes beds daily, and maintains logs and documentation.
• Reports resident conditions to supervisor and follows safety protocols.

Detailed responsibilities

• Caregiver
• Provides quality Customer Service efficiently to residents, families, co-workers and vendors in a manner to ensure satisfaction.
• Follows all established Front Porch Protocols for safety.
• Assists the residents to and from the dining room, and assists in serving meals. Serves trays to residents in their rooms, if necessary, and assists with cutting of food.
• Assists residents with bathing, dressing and personal hygiene.
• Washes resident’s personal laundry as needed. Makes resident’s beds daily.
• Maintains a safe and sanitary environment.
• Maintains log with all vital information.
• Reports to Supervisor regularly regarding the resident's condition.
• Maintains all documentation as required by Federal and State regulations and Company policy.
• Arrives to work on time, in proper clean uniform, good personal hygiene and with nametag visible.
• Follows highest standards of cleanliness. Follows all federal, state and corporate policies, health codes and guidelines in preparation and handling of foodstuffs.
• Performs all duties in a safe and efficient manner. Wears safety equipment as required for the job. Reports any safety hazards and/or accidents to supervisor.
• Attends all mandatory in-service meetings. Complies with all department and facilities policies and procedures.
• Front Porch is committed to the prevention of accidents by providing equipment with safeguards, personal safety equipment on jobs which require it, and adequate safety instructions to all employees
• All employees are required to follow safe work habits in order to prevent injuries to themselves, residents, visitors or other employees

Credentials

Education with Equivalent Qualifications

Experience with Equivalent Qualifications

• 1+ years of previous caregiving or related experience preferred
• 1+ years of experience in long term care, geriatric and/or rehabilitative setting preferred
