Job summary

Lincoln Industries of Wisconsin is seeking a Polisher to clean, de-burr, polish and grind metal parts using hand tools or powered equipment in an on-site role in New Berlin, Wisconsin.

The position is hourly, non-exempt, and requires a high school diploma or equivalent with some related experience. You will follow work instructions, operate grinders and buffers, and maintain a safe work environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Six months related experience required; one year preferred.
• Must read, write, and comprehend English and safety procedures.
• Ability to interpret a variety of written or spoken instructions.
• Capacity to work with hand tools and polishing equipment.

Responsibilities

• De-burrs or polishes parts by use of a portable grinder or buffer.
• Hold parts against abrasive belt or buff wheel to grind, polish or buff surface.
• Responsible for maintaining individual production goals.
• Changes tools on power equipment.
• Applies abrasive compound or other dressing to facilitate polishing operations.
• Could potentially come in contact with hazardous chemicals.

Summary

The purpose of this job is to clean, de-burr, polish and grind items of metal using hand tools or powered equipment by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Hold parts against abrasive belt or buff wheel to grind, polish or buff surface.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education And/or Experience

Expected: High School Diploma or Equivalent. Six months related experience. Preferred: One-year related experience preferred.

Communication Skills

• Must be able to read, write and comprehend the English language.
• Must be able to read and understand work instructions and safety procedures.

Other Skills

• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
