Job summary

Bizzell Group in Guthrie, OK seeks a placement and follow-up specialist to serve graduates and former enrollees, ensuring compliance with government and management directives.

You will contact employers, initiate referrals, document in the case management system, and produce reports while promoting Job Corps' standards for student success.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, business, communications, or closely related field; or associate’s degree with two years related experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and computer proficiency are required.
  • A valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record is required.

Responsibilities

  • Be the principal contact for graduates and former enrollees during transition, placement, and follow-up.
  • Initiate transitional support referrals to off-center placement specialists and community agencies.
  • Contact employers and centers to arrange interviews and placement activities.
  • Document services in the automated case management system.
  • Produce and distribute placement and follow-up reports.
  • Promote Job Corps' Zero Tolerance Policy and Career Success Standards.
  • Mentor students and monitor behavior to support positive outcomes.
  • Collaborate with OA/CTS and workforce development centers statewide.

Job description

Description

Responsible for providing placement and follow-up services for graduates and former enrollees in compliance with government and management directives.

Administration Procedures

Be the principal point of contact for graduates and former enrollees during the transition, placement, and follow-up as appropriate.

Initiate transitional support referrals to off-center placement specialists and other community agencies.

Contact employers, representatives, and on-stop centers to arrange for interviews and other activities to promote initial placement.

Make regular contact with graduates and former enrollees during the placement and follow-up period; provide services as needed; document in the automated case management system.

Verify, document, and report placements using the automated system and ETA-678.

Maintain regular contact with career development specialists at the center.

Work closely with OA/CTS colleagues to gather information and maintain open communication with workforce development centers throughout the state (in which the center is operating).

Produce and distribute placement and follow-up reports.

Participate in student employability programs and activities.

Support, promote, and enforce the Job Corps' Zero Tolerance Policy.

Promote the development of Career Success Standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students where necessary and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions.

Maintain accountability of students and property; adhere to safety practices.

  • Strong knowledge of the subject area of instruction and academic teaching practices.
  • High level of communication, interpersonal skills, and organizational skills.
  • High level of ability to motivate, inspire, and educate students effectively.
Experience
