Wages
- ● Part-time, exempt, hourly
- ● School-year position with some summer duties with hours to be approved by the Director of Business Services or Superintendent
- ● Wage rate: $40-45/hr.

Superintendent and Director of Business Services
Supervises
No direct reports at this time.
Coordinates
- ● State- and federally-funded vocational and career technical preparation programs under the guidance of the CEPD and regional director in the ISD’s constituent districts or within ISD programs. Includes Perkins and other grant reporting.
- ● ISD relationship with the Career Consortium of Barry County and its various members, especially the Barry County Chamber & EDA, West Michigan Works, and Kellogg Community College.
- ● ISD and constituent district participation in MiCareerQuest.
- ● ISD participation with the Michigan Department of Education and professional association groups like the MAISA CTE Committee.
- ● Other areas and duties as assigned by the superintendent or director of business services.
Work Location
May be assigned a temporary station or conference room space as needed in the administration office, but frequent travel to and among area school buildings will be required. Local school buildings or partner agencies may supply or allow work from office spaces. Coordinator will be allowed flexibility in scheduling work time from a home office setting, in consultation with supervisors.
Education level
Bachelor’s or master's degree in career & technical education, educational leadership, or related professional field.
Certification
Michigan administrative CTE or vocational certification.
Experience preferred
- ● ISD/RESA or CEPD level service in administration of state or federal grants preferred; LEA service in similar capacity acceptable. Working knowledge of career and technical education guidelines and state and ISD efforts to improve student access to CTE/vocational education, work-based learning, etc., required.
Background checks
Michigan State Police/FBI Livescan required by law.
Basic Skills
- ● Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees and the general public.
- ● Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, substract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interests, proportions to practical situations. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to apply financial concepts such as compound interest, time value of money, tax rates, and discounts.
- ● Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- ● Other Skills and Abilities: Ability to operate a personal computer and office applications. Experience and knowledge in PC/Windows based applications and software, including spreadsheet and word processing applications. Must have the ability to learn and utilize new technology, software, and/or programs to implement job responsibilities. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, and the school community. Ability to speak clearly and concisely, both in oral and written communication. Ability to follow through on multiple tasks.
Physical demands
- Must be able to work independently, including:
- ● Travel and walk to and around area schools.
- ● Lift files and boxes, equivalent to one box of copy paper.
- ● Perform work in an office environment, including long periods seated at a desk in front of a computer.
