JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE:Career & Technical Education Compliance Coordinator

REPORTS TO:Director of Career & Technical Education

WAGE/HOUR STATUS: Exempt

PAY GRADE:AI 3

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

The CTE Compliance Coordinator, reporting directly to the Director of Career & Technical Education is responsible for the supervision and direction of managing all reportable data on behalf of CTE with the statutory requirements of both federal and state regulations including but not limited to CCMR, PEIMS, Perkins V Performance Indicators, RDA, Title XI and any potential data related to Accountability to the state and our district goals.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from and accredited college or university
  • Proficient knowledge of eSchool or student data management systems
  • Minimum of two years of experience with CTE reporting

Preferred:

  • Masters in Educational Leadership or Business Administration
  • Valid Texas Teacher certificate as required by the State Board of Education Certification
  • Three years of classroom teaching experience

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

  • Knowledge and understanding of state education laws as outlined in the PEIMS Data Standards for CTE reporting requirements
  • Strong understanding of Career & Technical Education Accountability Standards
  • Strong and extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office, G Suite and eSchool
  • Effective use of charts and graphs to provide a visual explanation of data
  • Knowledge and understanding of audit procedures
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Global planning skills, organized, self-starter, independent worker, ability to analyze and evaluate data for accuracy and provide detailed reports to explain data in laymen’s terms.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Design and utilize the necessary programs and tools needed to track data both from a campus or district level to use in decision making as well as present to administration or board members the results of data derived from CTE programs.
  • Provide detailed disaggregated data reports through scheduled reviews of PEIMS reported data prior to scheduled submissions, student growth measures, and CCMR certifications.
  • Work with CTE Director and Research, Accountability and Testing on utilizing data to drive decisions on matters that affect CTE outcomes.
  • CTE reported data must be collected, analyzed and evaluated for accuracy and then presented through graphs, charts, and in terms easily digested for decision making.
  • Responsible for facilitating effective inter-district partnerships with (SIS) student information systems and data compliance as well as the school finance department to ensure that CTE is meeting all state and federal financial compliance requirements.
  • Review the Summary of Finances and work with CTE Director to determine the accuracy of CTE allocation of funds and make recommendations based on data.
  • Ensure state and federal compliance with CTE student data connected to Programs of Study designed by the state and its alignment to the Perkins V Performance Indicators.
  • Verify that CTE courses are set up correctly from the district course catalog and are synchronized with all campuses for accuracy, contact hours and other course elements.
  • Follow all Spring ISD district PEIMS procedures and monitoring of reports on a regular basis for accuracy to prevent erroneous information from being reported to the state that could affect accountability or finances.
  • Lead campus-level audit processes. Work with campus personnel, SIMS Clerks, CTE Counselors and CTE Academy Specialists on reporting procedures and timelines.
  • Train CTE required staff and others on any updates or changes to student reported data, either by TEA or school board policy.
  • Reviews and analyzes all CTE data from campuses for discussion and planning, and works with CTE Director and staff on compliance changes and updates.
  • Work in collaboration with campus administration in completing tasks consistent with the goals and objectives of securing and maintaining accurate CTE student data.
  • Attends relevant meetings, training, workshops and conferences and shares information gathered for the benefit of CTE and the district.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions require the following physical demands: physical mobility, standing, prolonged sitting, some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling. This position will require traveling within the district.

Mental demands: ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of situations; ability to interpret a variety of data; ability to interpret TEA Accountability requirements for CTE; ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory, ability to be effective in both oral and written communication; ability to maintain emotional control under stress. Extended hours may be required for the position.
