Job summary

Waukesha County Technical College seeks an Assistant Director of Career Services to lead a focused unit providing employer relations, internship development, and career assessment administration. You will supervise the Career Services Specialist and ensure students gain direct connections to employers, collaborating with Advising staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years in employer relations, career services, or internship coordination.
• Supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct short- and long-term planning for the Career Services unit, setting goals for employer relations, internship development, and career assessment services.
• Supervise the Career Services Specialist, including hiring, orienting, training, evaluating, developing, and recommending personnel actions.
• Serve as liaison to business and industry partners and expand internship partnerships and experiential learning opportunities.
• Oversee administration of career assessments and ensure quality delivery of results.
• Own and manage the college's Handshake platform, including vendor relationship, configuration, training, and troubleshooting.
• Lead coordination of career fairs, employer recruitment events, and student-employer meet-and-greet events.
• Coordinate marketing for advising, career, and student services, including print and digital channels.
• Coordinate referral and handoff protocols to route students to appropriate career support levels.
• Ensure adherence to NCDA, CAS, and NACE standards.
• Write grant proposals and manage grant-funded initiatives supporting career and employer-relations programming.
• Participate in special projects and assignments of similar scope.
