Houston Career Institute is seeking a Career Services Advisor/Placement Coordinator to help students identify and obtain entry-level jobs in their new field. You will guide career development, build relationships with employers, and present opportunities to graduates through workshops and coaching on resumes and interviews.
You will coordinate with academic departments, organize job fairs and field trips, maintain placement records, and produce reports for accreditation and administration.

The Career Services Advisor/Placement Coordinator works with students to help identify and obtain their first jobs in their new career/field. This individual is focused on the career development of students and graduates, while establishing relationships with prospective employers.
Presents employment opportunities to graduates and helps them in their job search by presenting workshops and providing individual coaching regarding career search strategies and methods, resume and interview preparation and other professional development topics.
Works to build relationships within the community to secure job placement opportunities for graduates and then actively pursues all avenues for job searches and seeks qualified entry-level employment to match graduate's skills.
Maintains placement records which are consolidated into reports and submitted to accreditation agencies, the State licensing agency, the school administration, faculty, and students. The Job Placement Coordinator is ultimately responsible for assisting students to prepare for the workforce in their chosen career field.
