Job summary

Goodwill Keokuk is seeking a Part-Time Career Services Advisor to help community members with career planning, certification training, resume writing, and job search activities.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or two years of college completed is required.
• One year of employment in a related field such as recruiting, supervisory, or training is required; an additional year may be substituted.
• Reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license required.
• Background checks including motor vehicle, child/elder dependent abuse, and sex offender registry are required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Teams/Zoom is required.

Responsibilities

Role Overview

Our Career Services Advisor works with community members who would like assistance with career planning and certification training. Advisors help community members in job search activities, building computer skills, and other skill development opportunities! This position provides skill assessments for each job seeker to assist them in locating resources and tools for their desired goals, as well as maintaining and using that knowledge. Career Services Advisors assist job seekers in securing employment in the community by aiding with basic job search activities, resume writing, skill workshops, interview skills, and other employment activities. This position also assists with building and maintaining partnerships with area businesses, organizations, and schools to represent and market Goodwill resources to fit workforce needs.

Qualifications

• An Associate's degree or two years of study completed from a college/university is required.
• One year of employment in a related field such as recruiting, supervisory, or training is required. An additional year of employment in a related field may be substituted.

• Successful completion of a motor vehicle, child/elder dependent abuse background check, and sex offender registry check required

Additional Information

The Career Services Advisor position has a starting wage of $18.82 per hour. The anticipated schedule will be Monday-Friday daytime hours with some flexibility required. Must be 18 years of age or older.
