The incumbent in this position supports the activities and responsibilities of the Paint Room Department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Preparation (15%)

• Smooths surface of wood preparatory to finishing using sandpaper.

Sandpaper – to remove protruding fibers from the wood.

Sanding Sponge – Removes fine protruding fibers from the wood.

Hand Sanding Operation (85%)

• Checks sign and part labels for material application description.
• Inspects incoming parts for defects such as burrs, splinters, excess glue, etc.
• Applies appropriate sanding technique ensuring quality and smoothness.
• Inspects work for quality.
• Assists co-workers as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Education and Experience
