Job summary

Qualifications

  • High School diploma required.
  • 3 years related experience and/or training.
  • Experience in the field of employment, vocational rehabilitation, or transitional employment assistance is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate or directly provide career coaching including intake, assessment, vocational and financial guidance, career and education search, and placement support.
  • Meet regularly with assigned employees and clients; maintain relationships with employers to promote employment or advancement.
  • Build relationships with store managers of employees on caseload.
  • Discuss goals with employees during shifts without impacting performance; assist donated goods employees in goal setting.
  • Create Individualized Service Plans addressing short- and long-term career and educational goals.
  • Communicate with community partner staff and maintain an up-to-date community resource guide.
  • Ensure client documentation is completed timely and in compliance with guidelines.
  • Teach work readiness skills in 1-on-1 and group settings.
  • Conduct one-on-one follow-up to monitor progress and accountability.
  • Oversee onboarding for new GIA employees with site leader/manager.
  • Assist in interview prep and process for donated goods applicants in the service area.
  • Refer to GIA HR, EAP, and other providers as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Facilitate or directly provide career coaching assistance services to employees and clients including intake, assessment, vocational and financial guidance, career and education search, and placement support. Assess the need for JOFI assessment and understand the methodology of Opportunity Accelerator (OA).2. Meet and communicate regularly with all assigned employees and clients. Establish relationships and maintain contact with employers to promote employment or advancement for eligible job seekers.3. Build relationships with store managers of the employees that are assigned to caseload.4. Be able to meet with employees to discuss goals during their work shift without interfering with their work performance. Being able to work with donated good employees to facilitate discuss goals as needed.5. Create Individualized Service Plans to address short- and long-term career and educational goals. Use a variety of strategies to assist employees and clients in overcoming barriers to employment and educational goals.6. Communicate regularly with key staff at community partner organizations and develop and maintain up-to-date community resource guide.7. Ensure client documentation is completed in a timely manner, and is appropriate according to individualized plans, verified by signatures as well as being accurate and in compliance with all state and federal guidelines.8. Teach work readiness skills in one-on-one and group settings.9. Conduct one-on-one follow-up in person, by phone or by email with employees and clients to continually monitor their efforts, measure progress on their action plan, and provide accountability.10. Ensure successful completion of the onboarding process for new GIA employees in conjunction with the site leader/manager.11. Assist in the interview prep and interview process for donated goods applicants in the locations in their service area.12. Possess the professional judgment necessary to make referrals to GIA Human Resources, EAP, and other providers to help support clients/employees. 13.
