Job summary

Encompass Health is seeking a dedicated Phlebotomist to obtain blood specimens and assist in routine analyses across our inpatient rehabilitation network, ensuring compassionate patient care. You will consistently apply sterile techniques, verify patient identity per NPSG, and select appropriate tubes for each test, maintaining precise labeling and documentation.

CPR certification and phlebotomy training are preferred, with adherence to hospital policies on infection control and safety protocols

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy certified or registered, preferred.
• CPR certification required or preferred.
• Completion of a phlebotomy training course.

Responsibilities

• Use sterile techniques to prevent infection.
• Identify the patient correctly per NPSG.
• Select correct tubes to draw blood per test ordered.
• Follow hospital policy for patients unable to draw.
• Follow blood culture procedure per Infection Control guidelines.
• Adhere to hospital-specific phlebotomy protocols.
• Label specimens per policy and requisitions.
• Follow biohazard waste, sharps disposal, and standard precautions.
