Career Development Specialist – P05615

Tall State College invites you to join our team as a full‑time, grant‑funded position with the Department of Corrections – Madison Correctional Institution.

What You’ll Do

As a Career Development Specialist, you’ll provide cell‑front instruction and other services for eligible participants in restrictive housing, as directed by the Lead Educator.

• Facilitate employability and life skill training, including the Compass 100 Hybrid curriculum and Thinking for a Change.
• Deliver in‑cell assignments and instruction for participants in restrictive housing.
• Facilitate employability and life skill programs for participants not in restrictive housing and lead small‑group instruction of Compass 100 Hybrid.
• Assist with pre‑release connections, including job search, recruitment, and placement with community providers and employers using face‑to‑face and technology‑based interactions.
• Report monthly attendance, enrollment, and completion metrics on approved Department of Corrections format.
• Maintain documentation of services delivered.

Who We’re Looking For

• Associate’s degree (or high school diploma) with at least 2 years of professional experience in workforce development, social services, or corrections.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and data entry.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with training, assessment administration, and case management preferred.
