Job summary

Isaac School District is seeking a qualified Guidance Counselor to support students in developing educational and occupational goals, under the supervision of the Director of Pupil Services.

The role involves interpreting career assessment data, advising on course selections, coordinating field trips, and partnering with teachers, college personnel, and community organizations to provide college and career information.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of pre/post high school program eligibility requirements.
• Knowledge of college/university admissions processes, scholarship programs and other educational opportunities.
• Knowledge of current developments in business and industry regarding career opportunities and employment.
• Knowledge of differentiated instruction based upon student learning styles.
• Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis and the formulation of action plans.
• Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students.

Responsibilities

• Assist students in evaluating aptitudes and abilities through interpretation of standardized test scores and other data.
• Assist students in making course selections and evaluating career interests and choices.
• Assist in scheduling classes and disseminating information regarding occupational opportunities.
• Aid students with admissions, scholarships and identifying employment opportunities.
• Coordinate with administrators and staff to identify student needs and familiarize stakeholders with guidance services.
