Job summary

Gesher Human Services is seeking a Job Coach in Southfield, MI to help individuals with disabilities achieve independence and integrated employment. You will plan, implement and supervise activities that promote a healthy, active lifestyle and provide training using safety care techniques.

Requirements include a High School Diploma and CPR/First Aid within 90 days; experience with developmental or emotional impairments preferred; ability to transport clients and work independently at community

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalency required, two years of college preferred.
• First Aid and CPR certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Working knowledge of training techniques, behavior modification and task analysis.
• Individuals fluent in American Sign Language is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement and supervise activities that promote a healthy, active and socially integrated lifestyle for the people we serve.
• Using Safety Care Training, provide training to maximize individuals’ capabilities and promote inclusiveness.
• Use behavior modification, task analysis, data collection, and related techniques to implement goal-related services.
• Provide regular and systematic feedback regarding performance and manage challenges until supervisory backup is provided.
• Review progress with navigators to develop or revise program goals and modify training techniques as needed.
• Transport the people we serve using your own vehicle when required.
• Supervise and facilitate development of interpersonal skills during meals, breaks and transitions.
• Serve on Agency committees as appointed.
