Job summary

Career Team is seeking a Career Advisor to provide career counseling, intensive case management, and follow-up services. You will work under the supervision of the WIOA Program Lead and engage with community partners to support job seekers.

Salary is commensurate with education and experience, with a strong benefits package including healthcare, dental, and personal/vacation time. This role is 100% onsite in Snohomish County and requires strong teamwork and confidentiality.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of WIOA program requirements and workforce program rules.
  • High confidentiality and time management skills; strong written and oral communication.

Responsibilities

  • Provide information and case management services to the community.
  • Complete intake and eligibility determinations for workforce programs.
  • Assess job seekers' employment, abilities, and training needs through interviews and testing.
  • Liaise between workforce programs and community partners.
  • Enter data into required information systems and maintain accurate files.
  • Guide individuals through IEPs based on occupational goals.
  • Stay informed on labor market trends and best practices.
  • Counsel job seekers on opportunities, training, and services and refer to appropriate programs.
  • Conduct orientation sessions, workshops, and job clubs; participate in staff events.
  • Meet program benchmarks and work in a dynamic team environment with confidentiality.

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-Time, Non-Exempt Employee

Career Team is looking to hire a Career Advisor who will perform professional work providing career counseling, intensive case management, and follow-up services. Work is performed under the supervision of the WIOA Program Lead.

Your Impact on Career Team’s Success:
  • Provide information and case management services to the community
  • Complete intake and eligibility determination for the workforce programs
  • Assess career seekers’ employment, abilities, and training needs through interviewing, testing, and other methods
  • Serves as a liaison between workforce development programs and community partners
  • Enter data into and otherwise use and process career seekers through any participant information system as required
  • Guide career seekers through the preparation of individual employment plans (IEP) based on their specific occupational goals
  • Stay on top of labor market trends and best practices
  • Counsel career seekers on available job opportunities, training programs, and other services
  • Refer individuals to appropriate services, training programs, or job opportunities and follow up on those activities
  • Conduct orientation sessions, workshops, job clubs, and other group presentations for career seekers
  • Ability to work in a dynamic team environment - must have excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • Follow all policies, procedures, and regulations related to eligibility documentation
  • Maintain accurate individual case files for each registered customer assuring that each file contains all required eligibility documents and meets compliance requirements
  • Meet and/or exceed program benchmarks
  • Participate in all staff-related events as required including but not limited to training and team meetings
  • Complete all required reports within the data management system
  • Approach each day and task with a solutions-oriented and responsive mindset

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

To Qualify for This Role, You Must Have:
  • Bachelors’ degree or higher or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong communication skills and knowledge about community resources
  • Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make well-thought-out decisions
  • Must be computer literate and have MS Word and Excel skills at minimum, and the ability to learn specialized databases and software systems
  • Ability to work in a variety of settings with a culturally diverse customer base with the ability to be culturally sensitive
  • Ability to motivate career seekers towards achieving goals
  • Strong business acumen
  • Ability to meet and exceed set goals and objectives
  • Excellent interpersonal, time management, customer service, organizational skills, and communication skills, both oral and written required
  • Knowledgeable about the WIOA program and other workforce program requirements
  • A demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient in maintaining a high level of confidentiality
  • Exceptional time management skills to meet deadlines and work under pressure
  • A Valid Driver’s License
