## Career AdvisorApplyremote type: In-Personlocations: Highland Heights, Kytime type: Full timeposted on: Posted Todayjob requisition id: JR100167**Position Title:**Career Advisor**Position Type:**Regular**About the Role:**The advisor will meet with undergraduate students during scheduled and walk-in appointments; communicates with undergraduate students on advising issues; participates in Master Advising professional development training; generates and disseminates student reports; works within the HRIS system to review student information and help students register for classes; and serves on committees within the department and across the university.* Provide academic advising to new freshmen, undecided/exploring, under-prepared students and probationary students at Northern Kentucky University.* Provide follow-up with at risk students by effectively managing advising caseloads.* Assist with the planning and delivery of academic orientation programs.* Create presentations for students and other professionals on campus.* Implement the office’s assessment plan for teaching advising student learning outcomes and maintain accurate and up-to-date student records.* Participate in university-sponsored professional development programs, the National Academic Advising Association and the Kentucky Academic Advising Association.* Serve on university committees as assigned by the director.**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:*** Bachelor’s Degree required; preferred qualifications are a master’s degree in College Student Personnel, Counseling, Communication, Education, or other academic discipline with experience in academic advising.* Minimum of two years academic advising experience in a higher education setting.**KNOWLEDGE,****SKILLS****AND ABILITIES****(KSAs****):*** ********Strong organizational, attention to detail, and exceptional communication skills are required.* Ability to articulate an understanding of student development theory.* Experience working with diverse student populations, especially at-risk and undecided/exploring students.******Posted Salary:****Work Environment & Physical Demands:**Valid driver’s license required and dependable vehicle.
