Overview

This Registered Nurse (RN) - Level I position is responsible for providing nursing care through the nursing process, applying competent clinical knowledge, skills, and independent judgment to achieve quality patient care outcomes.

Core Duties and Responsibilities
  • Modify patient plans of care based on data collection and individual needs.
  • Use Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) to provide patient care.
  • Delegate tasks according to scope of practice.
  • Verify plans of care with interprofessional colleagues, patients, and caregivers.
  • Provide education based on learning needs and family involvement.
  • Promote effective communication among interprofessional team members and healthcare consumers.
  • Influence policy to promote safe patient care.
  • Utilize appropriate resources, especially in sensitive situations.
  • Incorporate processes to enhance organizational growth and influence.
  • Participate in developing strategies to promote healthy communities and practice environments.
  • Recognize strategies to improve nursing quality.
  • Provide critical review and evaluation of policies, procedures, and guidelines to improve quality of healthcare.
  • Demonstrate understanding of importance of data collection and utilization.
  • Disseminate educational findings, experiences, and ideas with peers.
  • Engage in activities related to nurse-sensitive indicators to enhance quality of care.

Specialty Accreditation Requirements
  • Complete annual required education related to specialty accreditation as defined by accreditation standards.
  • Training may be completed through CBLs, trainings, in‑services, and competency validation.
Physical Requirements
  • Minimize manual patient lift to 35 pounds; use lift equipment or patient‑handling aids as indicated.
  • Require strength and stamina for lifting, moving, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, and carrying materials and equipment weighing 40+ lbs.
  • Visual acuity must be within normal range.
  • Hearing within normal range is required (e.g., to assess breath sounds, bowel sounds, apical pulse, monitors).
Working Environment
  • Work protracted or irregular hours.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Current Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which services will be provided or a current multi‑state RN license through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
  • Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.
  • One (1) year of registered nursing experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree (BSN).
