Job summary

Discovery Senior Living is seeking a caring Caregiver to enrich the lives of residents at Spring Cypress Assisted Living in Cypress, TX. The role involves hands-on personal care, companionship, and maintaining a safe, home-like environment while promoting independence and dignity.

Shifts available: 2nd and 3rd, full-time or part-time. CNA preferred; high school diploma required. You’ll work with a supportive team and receive competitive wages and benefits in a people-centered culture.

Qualifications

• CNA preferred; high school diploma or GED required.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Experience with seniors preferred.
• Strong communication skills with residents, team members, and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on personal care: bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, ambulation, transferring, and eating assistance.
• Respond to resident call bells promptly and monitor resident safety.
• Maintain clean, organized resident rooms and work areas.
• Offer companionship and emotional support to residents and engage in meaningful activities.
• Help residents maintain independence while promoting dignity, safety, and well-being.
• Notify supervisor or health care coordinator if a resident’s care needs increase.

Your Role

As the Caregiver, your role includes providing hands-on care and physical and emotional support to each resident while maintaining a safe and comfortable home-like environment.

Position Highlights

• Status: Full-time and Part-time Opportunities


• Schedule: 2nd (2pm-10pm) and 3rd (10pm-6am) Shift Opportunities

What You’ll Do

• Responsible for designated group of residents during shift; ensures awareness of whereabouts and conducts frequent checks


• Provide daily personal care support, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, ambulation, transferring, and eating assistance


• Respond to security system and resident call bells promptly


• Help residents maintain independence while promoting dignity, safety, and overall well-being


• Maintain cleanliness and organization of resident rooms and work areas


• Offer companionship, encouragement, and emotional support to residents


• Engage residents in meaningful life skills activities and enrichment programs


• Notify supervisor and/or health care coordinator if a resident has increased care needs


• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Certified Nurse’s Aid (CNA) certification preferred


• High School diploma or GED required


• Must be 18 years of age or older


• Prior experience working with seniors preferred


• Strong communication skills with residents, team members, and leadership


• Compassionate, resident-focused approach with superior customer service skills


• Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively


• Sound judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
