Care Coordination Specialist (Full Time)
Location: Medical Center - 600 Medical Center Drive, Newton, KS, 67114
Category: CLINIC OPERATIONS

We are looking for a detail-oriented a Care Coordination Specialist to join our compassionate care-giving team. In this role, you'll act as a key liaison between patients, providers, and insurance carriers to manage referrals, pre-authorizations, and pre-certifications. You'll work within our Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system to ensure timely and accurate communication with patients, patient's family, staff and providers while providing exceptional support to patients and their families all while, upholding HIPAA regulations, procedures and protocols set forth by the organization is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Experience with insurance or claims coding is a strong advantage.
Experience:
  • 1-2 years of experience with insurance processes or healthcare authorizations preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, data entry, and multi-line phone systems.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and office procedures.
  • High attention to detail, with solid interpersonal and phone etiquette.
  • Comfortable working independently and following written protocols.
  • Knowledge of grammar, spelling and punctuation and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words especially medical terminology is a plus.
  • Reliable, punctual, and professional.
Licensure, registration or certification:
  • Insurance or Coding certificate, Medical Terminology course completed or other healthcare certifications preferred.
