Job summary

Hartford HealthCare in Connecticut seeks an Authorization Coordinator to obtain authorizations for testing appointments and referrals. You will monitor weekly schedules and contact outside referring offices for authorization information.

You will register patients as needed, collaborate with Cardiology teams to ensure continuity of care, assist with standard work for authorizations, respond to inquiries, and help coordinate patient appointments while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year as a medical receptionist or previous care coordination experience.
• Direct customer service in the medical field.

Responsibilities

• Registers patients if needed.
• Collaborates and communicates with Cardiology teams to ensure continuity of medical care, to include obtaining, clarifying, validating referral requests.
• Assists with the creation of standard work for insurance authorizations.
• Responds to all requests (email, website, phone, other) and inquiries to best coordinate a patient’s appointment and needs.
• Contacts patients, families, medical providers and/or facilities to foster smooth transitions of care into the Practice.
• Reviews referring and transfer documents for accuracy and adherence to regulatory compliance and assuring the transitional care processes are implemented.
