Job summary

The University of Vermont Health Network seeks a dedicated Unit Secretary for the Cardiovascular Unit at UVMMC - Medical Center in Burlington, VT. You will support nursing staff, manage unit communications, and serve as a key liaison between the care team, other departments, patients and families.

Shifts are 6:00 AM to 1:45 PM on weekdays, with 36 standard hours and 72 biweekly hours. Prior office or health care experience is preferred, and this is a bargaining union position.

Qualifications

• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous employment in an office or health care environment.
• This is a bargaining union position.

Responsibilities

• The Unit Secretary is responsible for the secretarial aspects of the nursing unit.
• She/he acts as a support person to the nursing staff and other members of the health care team for indirect aspects of patient care.
• This position functions as a pivotal communication link between the health care team, other departments and patients and families.
