Inova Fairfax Hospital is seeking an experienced Cardiovascular Technologist to join the team in the Cardiovascular OR (CVOR).

Job Responsibilities:

As an experienced Cardiovascular Technologist in the CVOR at Inova Fairfax Hospital, you will support adult and pediatric/congenital cardiac surgeries. The 7 state-of-the-art CVORs are equipped with Stryker integrated video and a Philips (Single Plane) Hybrid OR. They serve all cardiac surgery needs including thoracic organ transplant (heart and lung), mechanical circulatory support, structural heart, congenital, and advanced aortic surgery.

• Assist anesthesia with invasive line placement
• Participate in the care, handling, cleaning, and storage of TEE equipment
• Take ownership of blood sample collection, analysis, and reporting, including quality control for hepr/ACT and pediatric laboratory analysis equipment
• Immediately recognize and respond to adverse clinical situations and direct others to assist in a favorable patient outcome under the supervision of a licensed care professional
• Demonstrate proper techniques for injection of IV contrast under ACR guidelines
• Consistently enter patient charge information accurately and maintain statistical data for outcome reports
• Calibrate, operate, and troubleshoot equipment such as Hepcon, ACT, and ABG; assist in patient transport to and from CVOR

Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor's Degree and/or equivalent work experience with some college coursework
• Experience: At least one year of relevant experience
• Certification: American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers
