Qualifications

• 2 year / Associate Degree in Accredited Cardiovascular Program is required.
• 1–2 years Cardiovascular Technology experience is preferred.
• ACLS and BLS certifications are required.
• RCIS and RCES credentials obtained within one year of hire.
• ARRT Radiology Tech credentials are expected.
• Proficiency with PACS imaging data management.

Responsibilities

• Support cardiac invasive procedures in Cath Lab, EP Lab and Interventional Vascular Lab.
• Perform surgical scrub, hemodynamic monitoring and data acquisition.
• Provide on-call coverage as assigned and rotate as needed.
• Coordinate imaging data management and PACS acquisitions.
• Demonstrate competency in care for patients of various ages with appropriate documentation.

Job Description Summary

The cardiovascular technologist acts as a clinical / technical support team member. They are competent in cardiac invasive procedural skill sets such as , surgical scrub, hemodynamic monitoring and clinical data computation and acquisition. The cardiovascular technologist provides on call coverage as assigned and as rotations require. They are competent in cardiac imaging PACS acquisition and data management. The CVT is required to functionally perform duties in Cath Lab, EP lab and Interventional Vascular Lab as needed on a daily basis.

• Demonstrates competency at all levels in providing care to all patients based on age, sex, weight, and demonstrated needs.
• For non-clinical areas, has attended training and demonstrates usage of age- specific customer service skills.

Working Conditions

General environment: Works in a well-lighted, air-conditioned area, with moderate noise levels. May be exposed to high noise levels and bright lights. May be exposed to limited hazardous substances or body fluids, or infectious organisms. May be required to change from one task to another of different nature without loss of efficiency or composure. Periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads may occur. May be scheduled as needed including overtime.

Qualifications - Internal Education Requirements

• 2 year / Associate Degree in Accredited Cardiovascular Program (Required)

Experience Requirements

• 1 - 2 years Cardiovascular Technology Experience (Preferred)

Certifications and Licensures

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) obtained within one year of hire
• Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) obtained within one year of hire
• Radiology Tech (ARRT)
