Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a qualified assistant to support aseptic preparation, patient transport after catheterization, and general patient care for adults and geriatrics. The role operates under general supervision with day-to-day duties assigned as needed.

Requirements include an LPN with training, or Medical Assistant program, or 2 years of EKG study, plus Basic Life Support experience. Weekend and holiday rotation applies; benefits are available with eligibility.

Qualifications

• Must have knowledge of heart anatomy/physiology from LPN, medical assistant program, or 2 years of EKG training.
• Interpersonal skills to interact with patients, families and physicians.
• Basic Life Support experience required.
• 4–6 months on-the-job training in EKG interpretation, aseptic techniques and test procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist in aseptically preparing authorization site and transporting patients after procedures.
• Provide patient care to adult and geriatric patients under supervision.
• Perform various daily duties as assigned.

THIS IS A COLLECTIVE BARGAINING UNIT POSITION

GENERAL SUMMARY

Under general supervision assists in performing various technical duties such as aseptically preparing authorization site. Transporting patients post catheterization to their appropriate destination. Many other ancillary duties will be assigned on a day-to-day basis. Provides patient care to adult and geriatric patients.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Must possess level of knowledge of heart anatomy and physiology acquired through LPN with med training, formal Medical Assistant program, or 2 years of EKG program.
• Must have interpersonal skills sufficient to interact effectively with patients, families and physicians.
• Must have Basic Life Support experience.
• Work requires 4 to 6 months on the job training in electrocardiograph interpretation, aseptic techniques and test procedures

HOURS

Full-time, Days

Weekend and holiday rotation required per department policy.
