Job summary

Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx is seeking staff for the Pediatric Heart Center cardiac catheterization laboratory. This position performs chemical analysis on blood and blood gases, monitors EKG and pressures during procedures, and operates specialized cath lab equipment under physician and RN supervision.

Responsibilities include patient prep, log maintenance, and direct/indirect patient care, with ongoing monitoring of vitals and electrograms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; High School Diploma required.
• RCIS or RCS or IBHRE certification preferred at hire or within 2 years.
• Licensed Clinical Laboratory Technologist preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receives patients at clinic reception area and performs clerical duties.
• Under supervision, performs chemical analysis on blood samples and blood gases.
• Monitors EKG and pressure recordings during procedures.
• Maintains logs related to procedures in the cath lab.
• Prepares patients and operates hemodynamic and electrophysiology equipment.
• Continuously monitors vital signs, EKG, and pressure readings.
• Analyses intracardiac electrograms and reports results.
• Performs other duties related to daily operation of the cardiac cath lab.

Continuously monitors vital signs, EKG, and pressure recordings. Analyses inter‑cardiac electrogram and reports results. Performs direct and indirect patient care. Maintains appropriate documentation. Performs other duties as related to the daily operation of the cardiac catheterization laboratory. RCIS (registered cardiovascular invasive specialist) and / or RCS (registered cardiac electrophysiology specialist) and/or IBHRE (international board of heart rhythm examiners) certification preferred at hire or within 2 years of employment. Licensed Clinical laboratory technologist preferred. Education Bachelor’s degree preferred. High School Diploma required.
