Job summary

Hudson Regional Health in Bayonne, NJ is seeking a Cardiovascular Technologist to support interventional and diagnostic procedures in the cath lab. You will assist with EKGs, treadmill tests, vascular imaging, and patient care under physician supervision.

Requires NJ license and US work authorization. Strong teamwork and composure under stress are valued, with diplomas or degrees in cardiovascular technology preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Under direct supervision of the physician, prepares patients and operates hemodynamic and electrophysiologic equipment during interventional and diagnostic procedures.
  • Comforts patients by welcoming them to the cardiology suite, answering questions and responding to requests.
  • Completes electro-cardiograms (EKGs) by attaching electrodes to the patient’s chest, arms, and legs.
  • Completes treadmill stress tests by connecting patients to EKG monitors.
  • Performs non-invasive peripheral vascular tests by collecting ultrasound echoes to form a screen image of heart function and circulation.
  • Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following asepsis standards.
  • Updates job knowledge through education, publications, networks, and professional organizations.
  • Registers patients by entering anticipated service data into the patient record and verifying medical history.
  • Supports physicians in diagnosing and treating cardiac and peripheral vascular ailments with a catheter.
  • Assists physicians in invasive procedures and performs radiographic/fluoroscopic imaging to document catheter location and findings.
  • Maintains a well-stocked and clean work environment.
  • Works with the Cath Lab team to promote wellness and quality care.

  • Must be able to provide proof of authorization to work in the US.

Education
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • At least 2 years of work experience preferred.
  • Active cardiovascular technologist license in NJ
  • Diploma in Cardiovascular Technology from a University, Bachelor’s degree in cardiovascular technology or an undergraduate certificate in cardiovascular technology.
