Job summary

UCHealth University of Colorado Health in Aurora, CO seeks a Sonographer with ARDMS/CCI credentials for echocardiography. Full-time, days, 72 hours per pay period, with a pay of $60.00 per hour plus a travel package/stipend. Travel options available within 75 miles and 13-week assignments.

  • Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technologist or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer program.
  • 1 adult echo and 1 vascular credential from ARDMS or CCI as listed.
  • State licensure if required.
  • BLS/CPR certification through AHA/Red Cross before start date.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews patient history and orders, educates patients on procedures and approvals.
  • Operates ultrasound equipment, selects exposure factors, and ensures patient safety throughout imaging.
  • Provides high-quality imaging and reports results, troubleshooting equipment as needed.

Education

Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technologist program or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer program
ARDMS RDCS (Adult) and ARDMS RVT or CCI credentials (RCS, RVS, RCCS, ACS)
State licensure if required by law
BLS/CPR certification via AHA or Red Cross

Work Schedule: Full Time, 72.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)

Pay:$60.00 per hour plus travel package/stipend

LOCAL Traveler contract options available for those who reside within 75 miles

13 week assignments available

Minimum Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accreditedUltrasound Technologist program or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer program.
  • 1 adult echo and 1 vascular credential from: ARDMS: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) - Adult (AE); Vascular Technologist (RVT).
  • CCI: Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS), Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS), Registered Cardiac Congenital Sonographer (RCCS), Advanced Cardiac Sonographer (ACS).
  • State licensure if required by law.
  • BLS - BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.

Sonographer:
  • Reviews patient history, physician's orders and does scheduling. Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation. When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice
  • Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to change in status as appropriate. Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters.
  • Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary. Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s). Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results.
