Cardiovascular Radiologic Technologist - Relief

Overview

Oregon Health & Science University is hiring for a Relief Cardiovascular Radiologic Technologist. The base pay range is $50.55/hr - $69.41/hr. Actual pay is based on skills and experience.

Responsibilities
  • Assists physician during cases while operating a variety of complex radiologic imaging equipment including fluoroscopy and ultrasonography within the Cardiac Cath Lab suite. This includes circulating in the procedure room, operating the imaging equipment in both adult and congenital procedures. Cross-train to another service area (EP, Hybrid OR, etc).
  • Prep the patient and prepare supplies under sterile conditions for the procedure. Scrub in with the physician and assist in performing the procedure. Use fine motor skills to prep supplies and equipment, including threading stents and balloons on wires.
  • Accurately obtain x-rays for exams while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
  • Operate automatic injectors and select the appropriate contrast agent under physician direction.
  • Collaborate with other staff to provide patient care during examinations. Maintain and troubleshoot equipment, document malfunctions, and coordinate borrowing equipment as needed.
  • Work independently on-call with department physicians and nurses.
Required Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
  • Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
  • Valid Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist license issued by the Oregon Board of Medical Imaging
  • OHSU approved Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
  • Two years of experience in the operation of radiologic equipment or an equivalent combination of specialized training and experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Pediatrics experience preferred
  • Cardiac Interventional and/or Vascular Interventional certification from ASRT (RCES or RCIS preferred)
  • EP/Cath Lab technologist knowledge and abilities
Additional Details
  • Must be able to deal with competing needs and priorities of internal and external customers, ensuring safe conditions for patients, families, and staff
  • Experience with hospital-approved clinical equipment; frequent use of computers, copiers, multi-line phones, and faxes
  • Fast-paced admit/recovery environment with quick turnover of patients
  • Ability to change work location based on procedure volumes and staffing needs
  • Assignment includes Cath Lab and EP procedures, four procedure labs, inpatient, day patient, outpatient workflows, and two work sites (South Waterfront/CHH2 and the 11C unit of the Main OHSU Hospital)
  • Must live within a 30-minute call-back radius to OHSU Marquam Hill campus for emergent/urgent after-hours on-call activations
