Job summary

Chippenham Hospital, part of HCA Healthcare, seeks a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist to lead clinical pharmacy activities, mentor students, and collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize therapy and patient safety.

You will monitor drug regimens, participate in quality initiatives, and support cost-effective pharmaceutical care across service lines. The position offers a comprehensive benefits package and ongoing professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Effective communication skills are required.
  • Experience using computer applications including word processing, spreadsheet software and pharmacy information systems.
  • Interest/knowledge in pathophysiology, interpretation of diagnostic criteria, pharmacokinetics and pharmacotherapeutics.
  • Minimum 1 year hospital pharmacy experience AND one of the following OR two of the following: At least 2 years of hospital pharmacy experience; Completion of 1 year (PGY1 or general practice) – residency/fellowship; BCPS.

Responsibilities

  • Provides a minimum of two inservices per year on rational medication therapy and medication procedures.
  • Mentors peers and cross-campus pharmacists in service line.
  • Maintains active presence on patient care units for 80% of shift.
  • Precepts pharmacy students and residents.
  • Participates in committee work and quality initiatives.
