Sentara Heart Hospital in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Cardiovascular Invasive Technologist to support five cath labs and electrophysiology services. You will assist physicians in diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures and help ensure patient safety and procedural accuracy.

Minimum requirements include a High School Diploma or Health Sciences program graduate, EMT/paramedic credentials, and RCIS in progress preferred; BLS/ACLS within 90 days. Shift is 7a–5:30p with on-call duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of a health sciences program (Cardiovascular tech, ultrasound, radiologic tech, respiratory therapy or nursing) or licensed/certified EMT/paramedic.
• RCIS in progress preferred; BLS/ACLS within 90 days of hire.

City/StateNorfolk, VAWork ShiftFirst (Days)Overview:Sentara Heart, part of Sentara Norfolk General hospital is hiring a Cardiovascular Invasive Technologist in Norfolk, VA!Must be within 30 minutes of Facility for Call Requirements.Sign on Bonus up to $5,000 available for Qualified Candidates!Hours: 7am to 530pm. 6 week scheduling.Required Call: 7 to 9 shifts in a 6 week schedule to include at least one full weekend.A Cardiovascular Invasive Technologist, often referred to as a Cath Lab Technologist, is a healthcare professional specializing in assisting physicians during diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures. This role involves working closely with patients, physicians, and other healthcare team members to provide high-quality care and ensure the safety and accuracy of procedures.About the Department:Our Cardiac Cath/EP department operates with high efficiency and specialized capabilities, maintaining five state-of-the-art catheterization labs and one minor procedure room. The department supports a wide range of services, including diagnostic catheterizations, coronary interventions, and complex structural heart procedures such as TAVR (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement), MitraClip implantation, transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE), and loop recorder implantations. Most procedures are performed under moderate sedation, with full anesthesia support and resources dedicated to both routine and advanced cases.On average, each Cath lab manages approximately seven cases per day. Electrophysiology (EP) services are delivered through four dedicated labs, performing about four to five cases per lab daily and include advanced mapping and ablation.The department is staffed by a multidisciplinary team of approximately 80 professionals, including Cardiovascular Invasive Specialists, Registered Nurses (RNs), EP Specialists, and essential support staff.
