Job summary

Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk, VA is seeking a qualified Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist to join the cath lab team. The role supports physicians in diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures and helps optimize patient outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

Required RCIS certification, High School diploma, and BLS/ACLS within specified timelines; 1 year of invasive cardio experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians in diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures in the cath lab.
• Operate cardiovascular invasive equipment and monitor patient status during procedures.
• Administer medications under physician direction and ensure compliance with policies and HIPAA.
• Participate in on-call rotation and contribute to quality assurance and process improvement in the cath lab.

Hourly Range: $32.13-$53

Overview The Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist is a highly trained and specialized healthcare professional who plays a critical role in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular conditions. Working at a professional level, this role is central to the functioning of cardiac catheterization laboratories and other invasive cardiovascular environments. The Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist assists physicians in performing diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures and operates within a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes and procedural efficiency.

The Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist administers medication under the direction of a qualified physician; ensures compliance with all hospital policies, HIPAA regulations, and accreditation standards; participates in on-call rotation and responds rapidly to emergency cases, including STEMI activations; and contributes to ongoing quality assurance and process improvement initiatives in the cath lab.

Education

• BLS (Required within 90 days)
• ACLS must be obtained within 90 days of hire

Experience

• Related experience such as working as a Cardiovascular Invasive Tech or working in an invasive cardiac environment (1 year minimum required)
