Job summary

Novant Health is seeking a Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist for a procedural role in our cath lab to support cardiac and vascular procedures. The candidate will collaborate with cardiologists, nurses, and anesthesia providers to deliver high-quality, safe patient care.

The ideal professional has extensive Cath Lab experience and credentials in RN, RTR, RRT, RCIS, RCES, EMT-P, CVT or VI, with annual competency testing and a focus on patient safety.

Qualifications

• RN, RTR, RRT, RCIS, RCES, EMT-P, CVT or VI credentials required.
• One year of Critical Care, Emergency Services, Cath/EP Lab, or Special Procedures experience for RN.
• Ability to pass yearly Cardiac Dysrhythmias Test and competency validations.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures.
• Operate and troubleshoot hemodynamic monitoring, imaging, and procedural equipment.
• Monitor patient status before, during, and after procedures; ensure safe recovery.

What You'll Do

• Assist physicians with diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures
• Operate and troubleshoot hemodynamic monitoring, imaging, and procedural equipment
• Monitor patient status before, during, and after procedures, ensuring safe recovery
• Administer and manage medications, drips, and sedation under physician direction
• Provide rapid, skilled interventions in emergent cardiac events
• Educate patients and families on procedures, recovery, and ongoing care needs

  • Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES)
  • Emergency Medical Technician – Paramedic (EMT-P)
  • Cardiovascular Tech (CVT)
  • Vascular Intervention (VI)
• Experience:
  • If RN, one (1) year of Critical Care, Emergency Services, Cath/EP Lab, or Special Procedures experience, required.
  • If EMT-P, two (2) years of acute care hospital experience, required.
  • If RTR, RRT, RCIS, RCES, CVT or VI one (1) year of experience, required.
• Licensure/Certification: Registered Nurse (RN)-North Carolina Board of Nursing License Registered Radiology Technologist (RTR) -ARRT Radiology OR Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic (EMT-P) credentialing/accreditation and/or Paramedic associate degree from an appropriately recognized Paramedic program. Or Technologist Registry OR Respiratory Therapist-licensed by the North Carolina Respiratory Care Board (NCRCB) AND Credentialed by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) as RRT. OR Registered Cardiac Invasive Specialist, Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist, Cardiovascular Tech, and Vascular Intervention-graduate of an accredited Cardiovascular Program. If the Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (CIS) is not a RN, RTR with CI or VI certification, he/she must obtain their Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) within 24 months of hire for continued employment, required.
• Additional Skills (required):
  • Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skill validation and competency testing.
  • Pass yearly Cardiac Dysrhythmias Test
