Job summary

Inova Mount Vernon is seeking a Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist 2 for full-time day shifts. Expect on-call duties (roughly 10–12 days monthly) with potential sign-on bonus and relocation assistance.

The role emphasizes leadership, mentorship, and high-quality patient care in a fast-paced cardiovascular lab. A strong background in interventional procedures and ACLS/BLS protocols is required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or accredited School of Cardiovascular Technology or Radiology Technology or equivalent education and experience.
• American Heart Association BLS required on start; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support required on start.
• One year of interventional Cardiac Cath Lab or Electrophysiology Lab or Interventional Radiology Lab experience or equivalent nursing ICU experience.

Job description

Inova Mount Vernon is looking for a dedicated Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist 2 to join the team. This role will be full-time day shift: Monday - Friday 7:30am to 5:00pm (8-hour shifts with fluctuating start and end time depending on-call). Typically, 10-12 on-call days per month. Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance eligible.

Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist 2 Job Responsibilities:

• The Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist 2 provides direction and guidance to others regarding practice while serving as a resource, preceptor, and mentor.
• Demonstrates leadership skills in decision making and problem solving. Communicates effectively and works cooperatively with others.
• Uses standards and guidelines for cost-effective care delivery while incorporating data and information to continuously improve care and practice to enhance outcomes.
• Provides safe and therapeutic care in a holistic and caring way while incorporating differences into the provision of care. Integrates knowledge, skill and experiences to meet the patient needs.
• Performs psychosocial/physiologic assessments that integrate changing data as documented in procedure notes.
• Tailors and prioritizes caring practices to individual needs, including cultural/ethical/spiritual needs. Participates in the planning of routine transitional health care needs (e.g. treatment options).
• Ensures efficiency in the delivery of care while determining immediate priorities and offering solutions for problems.
• May perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing -OR graduate of an accredited School of Cardiovascular Technology -OR Radiology Technology or equivalent education and experience.
• Certification: American Heart Association BLS required upon start American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support required upon start Registered in one of the below unless a graduate of an accredited school of nursing -OR unless at least 5 years of Interventional Radiology Tech experience with active RTR registry, Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) Radiologic Technologist Vascular Interventional Radiology (RTR VI) Radiologic Technologist Cardiovascular (RTR CV) Radiologic Technologist Cardiovascular Interventional (RTR CI) required.
• Experience: One year of experience in interventional Cardiac Cath Lab or Electrophysiology Lab or Interventional Radiology Lab performing Cardio Invasive Specialist duties or equivalent years of experience as a nurse working in a critical care hospital unit.
