Job summary

Virtua Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Camden, NJ is seeking a Full‑Time CVICU Intensivist to join our cardiovascular program.

You will provide comprehensive critical care to critically ill cardiovascular patients and work closely with cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, and multidisciplinary teams.

The ideal candidate holds MD or DO, completed residency and fellowship, and holds or is eligible for New Jersey medical licensure; cardiovascular critical care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Residency and fellowship training appropriate to CVICU/critical care.
• Board certification or eligibility in Pulmonary/Critical Care, Critical Care, or Anesthesiology with Critical Care fellowship.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive critical care management in the CVICU.
• Collaborate with cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Manage complex cardiovascular conditions including cardiogenic shock and advanced support.
• Participate in clinical decision-making, care coordination, and patient safety initiatives.

About the Opportunity

Virtua Medical Group is seeking a Full‑Time CVICU Intensivist to join our growing cardiovascular program at Virtua Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Camden, New Jersey. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated critical care physician to provide exceptional care to critically ill cardiovascular patients in a collaborative, high‑acuity clinical environment. The successful candidate will work closely with cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, advanced heart failure, and multidisciplinary critical care teams to deliver comprehensive, patient‑centered care.

Responsibilities include:

• Provide comprehensive critical care management for patients in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU).
• Collaborate with cardiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons, advanced heart failure specialists, advanced practice providers, and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
• Manage complex cardiovascular conditions, including cardiogenic shock, acute decompensated heart failure, and patients requiring advanced hemodynamic monitoring and mechanical circulatory support.
• Participate in clinical decision‑making, care coordination, quality improvement, and patient safety initiatives.
• Support evidence‑based practices and the continued development of a high‑performing cardiovascular critical care program.

Qualifications

• MD or DO
• Completion of an accredited residency and fellowship training appropriate to the position.
• Board certification or board eligibility in an appropriate specialty, such as Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine, Critical Care Medicine, or Anesthesiology with Critical Care fellowship training.
• New Jersey medical license or eligibility for New Jersey licensure.
• Experience in cardiovascular critical care, cardiogenic shock, and mechanical circulatory support is preferred.
• Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and a commitment to collaborative, patient‑centered care.

In compliance with New Jersey pay transparency laws, all physician roles include a posted minimum base salary. The minimum base salary for this position is $445,000.00 per year. Final compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience, qualifications, and prevailing market factors.
