Job summary

The University of Miami’s Cardiovascular Intensive Care Department in Miami is hiring a Staff Nurse (RN) to provide critical care to cardiac patients in UTower. You will assess, plan, and deliver patient-centered care in a collaborative interdisciplinary team, while supporting patient and family education.

Required qualifications include Florida RN license, BLS/ACLS certification, and a minimum of 2 years cardiovascular nursing experience; BSN preferred or ASN with time to complete BSN.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
• RNs with ASN degree have 2 years to complete BSN.
• Valid Florida RN License with BLS/ACLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assesses assigned patients and documents nursing care.
• Reports changes in patients' condition and vital signs.
• Modifies treatment plans per patient responses and physician orders.
• Reviews, evaluates and reports diagnostic tests to assess condition.
• Consults with physicians and other healthcare professionals on care plans.
• Prepares patients for examinations and procedures and assists with treatments.
• Provides patient and family education and discharge planning; ensures HIPAA compliance.
