Methodist Hospital Stone Oak in San Antonio, TX seeks a Clinical Nurse Coordinator to ensure high quality, patient-centered care and coordination of all unit functions during the shift. You will direct nursing care, support staff, and model the organization’s values to enhance patient outcomes and departmental performance.

The role requires RN licensure in Texas (or willingness to obtain) and BLS, with 1+ year as an RN and 2–5 years ICU/CVICU experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (diploma/associates/bachelor) is required.
• Minimum of one year of clinical experience as an RN is required.
• 2–5 years ICU/CVICU experience is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, evaluate, and deliver high quality patient-centered care on the unit/department.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Lead staff scheduling and manage labor according to patient care needs and productivity guidelines.
• Uphold policies, procedures and regulatory standards across shifts.
• Represent the organization in the community and support staff development.
• Ensure inventory control and proper supplies management.

Job Summary And Qualifications

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) ensures and delivers high quality, patient-centered care and coordination of all functions in the unit/department during the designated shift. In collaboration with other members of the management team, the CNC directs, monitors, and evaluates nursing care in accordance with established policies/procedures, serves as a resource person for staff, and models a commitment to the organization’s vision/mission/values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental performance.

About the Unit:

• 14 bed Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit
• BRAND NEW and state-of-the-art high acuity cardiovascular floor
• Patient to Nurse ratio 2:1
• Proficiency training for specialty equipment

• Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate, evaluate, customize, and deliver high quality, patient-centered care.

• Assists with staff scheduling. Manages all practical aspects of staff labor in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity guidelines. Supports proper inventory control and assists with managing supplies and equipment.
• Ensures compliance with all policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.

What qualifications you will need:

• Graduate of an accredited diploma, associates, or baccalaureate degree registered nursing program required
• Minimum of one (1) year of clinical experience as a licensed Registered Nurse required
• 2-5 years of ICU or CVICU experience as a licensed Registered Nurse highly preferred
• Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License required (Employees with RN Compact License are required to obtain Texas RN License within 90 days of hire date)
• Current American Heart Association BLS Certification required
