Job summary

Methodist Dallas Medical Center in Dallas, TX seeks a Clinical Team Leader to perform direct patient care as the charge nurse and maintain a safe, therapeutic environment. The role requires BSN, TX RN license, and charge nurse training with certifications (BLS/ACLS/PALS/NRP) or commitment to obtain within 2 years.

You will lead departmental staff, plan staffing, and oversee day-to-day operations on the designated shift. Reports to Nurse Manager with no direct reports.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with a BSN.
• Completion of charge nurse training; if external hire, within 90 days of hire.
• Current RN license in Texas or compact license.
• Clinical course certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, etc.)
• Advanced specialty certification or agreement to obtain within 2 years (CCRN, CEN, RNC, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Provides frontline leadership and decision-making for departmental staff; ensures the quality of care.
• Develops staffing plan based on patient acuity and oversees unit operations during the shift.
• Monitors workflow and adjusts staffing to support unit fiscal goals.
• Coordinates patient flow; ensures timely admissions and discharges from the unit.
• Supports department and organizational objectives including patient experience, LOS, and quality measures.
• Participates in department initiatives and process improvements.
• Participates in peer interviews and provides feedback for evaluations.
• Assists with investigation of incidents.
• Other duties as assigned.
