Mymlc in Saint Joseph, MO is seeking a Cardiovascular Technologist to assist in cardiovascular procedures and maintain optimal patient care. The role involves direct patient interaction and requires successful completion of ARRT, RCIS, EMT, LPN or RN. Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications are required. Ideal candidates will have a strong knowledge of aseptic techniques and cardiovascular equipment, along with at least 2 years of experience in a Cath Lab or related field.

Qualifications

  • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) preferred upon hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required upon hire.

Job Description

The Cardiovascular Technologist works under the supervision of Director. The Cardiovascular Technologist is responsible for direct and indirect patient care, properly documenting all chronologically procedural events, analytical calculations, medications, equipment set up and operation, and instrumentation. Assists the physician during sterile procedures and assumes responsibility for completion of other functions as assigned.

Responsibilities
  • Assists provider with cardiovascular procedures by scrubbing and/or first assisting to achieve optimal patient care.
  • Maintains knowledge/expertise of all cardiovascular procedures and team functions, of instruments and supplies used for electrophysiology and interventional cardiovascularvascular procedures, and provides input for equipment purchase and maintains a cost‑effective inventory.
  • Maintains and monitors aseptic technique to reduce risk of surgical site infection as well as contamination of peers.
  • Assists with safely transporting patients preoperative to the procedure room, positioning patients for the procedure, and transporting to post‑procedure area.
  • Labels medications on the sterile field and communicates to surgeon.
  • Maintains knowledge and expertise of cardiovascular equipment and supplies to provide input for equipment purchase.
  • Maintains a basic understanding of anatomy and physiology of the vascular service.
  • Contributes to the professional development of peers, colleagues, and others (example: students, orientees).
  • Collaborates and maintains a positive attitude with other members of the interdisciplinary team to achieve the patient’s expected outcomes.
  • Other duties as assigned per professional licensure.
Education
  • Successful completion of ARRT, RCIS, EMT, LPN or RN - Required
  • Associate’s Degree - Preferred
Work Experience
  • 2 Years in lieu of above, working in Cath Lab, OR, or Special Procedures - Preferred
Licenses and Certifications
  • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) - Preferred upon hire or
  • Registered Technologist (R.T.) - Preferred upon hire or
  • Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) - Preferred upon hire
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - Required upon hire
